ladies singles finalists

The ladies Championship was held at Indalo BC this year with 27 ladies from five clubs taking part. The early rounds were played in very windy conditions but even with the gusty conditions, there was some very fine bowling taking place.

One semi-final was between Doreen Hall v Debbie Colquhoun both from Indalo, Doreen being a past member of the Spanish National squad and Debbie in the team. The other semi-final was between Linda Lester (Indalo) v Sylvia Pritchard (ALBC) as is often the case both semi-finals were nail-bitingly close both games with being evenly matched, but in the end, Linda Lester came out the victor in her game with Debbie Colquhoun winning hers.

So to the final between Debby Colquhoun v Linda Lester, the wind had disappeared so they could settle to bowling to their best. The heads of bowls were very tight, but Debbie was bowling on a sixpence while Linda put up a tremendous fight her bowls would just run through the head or when on the jack Debbie's moved them, the score became uneven although the quality of the bowling was so high much enjoyed by the spectators.

Debbie Colquhoun came out the worthy winner.
